Exam 70-680 Windows 7 Configuring now available!
It’s finally happened!
Exam 70-680 Windows 7, Configuring finally appears to be available through Prometric testing centers. Of course this could still be a false hope and the test screen could be blank when I sit down to begin, but my testing center here at Springhouse Education and Consulting (Exton, PA) was able to schedule me for the exam. I will be taking the exam Tuesday morning Aug 11th and I will do my best to write a review of the exam here on this blog once I’ve completed the exam.
Exam skills measured can be found here.
As far as preparation for the exam; I have been deeply involved with our Windows 7 training and presentations here at Springhouse Consulting since Beta so I have been fortunate enough to have the course content for Microsoft Course 6291 and have developed a couple of different free online presentations we offer regarding Windows 7 features and operation. Learn about Springhouse iLearn Webcasts and the Windows 7 presentations.
While my “post-exam” review will help give a more direct idea of skills required, I initially recommend that anyone going for this exam be well versed in Windows Server systems since a LOT of the new features in Windows 7 are networking and security enhancements that rely heavily on interaction with Windows Server and particularly with Server 2008 R2.
Wish me luck on the exam and best of luck to my fellow test takers.
Anyone who has taken the exam, or is planning to, please comment here to share your experience with the rest of us.
If you’re anywhere near Southeastern Pennsylvania, you can register to take the exam or any Prometric exam at our location in Exton PA.
